Creemer

A legendarily obscure power alt-folk group

Creemer

A short-lived band formed in 2000 around the idosyncratic songs of wandering Canadian ex-pat Brett Creemer, who stopped long enough in his travels around Europe to do few gigs in London at the legendary Kashmir Klub.  It was there he met Nick Kacal and Darren Altman  and charmed them into forming his backing band.  The freshness, wit and originality of the music inspired us to try and make a CD.... after a long and painful gestation, it finally came out in 2001 to instant obscurity but our great satisfaction. Invaluable lessons learned in the process have had much influence on Guerilla Sound Recordings....

After the release of the record, Brett Creemer returned to Vancouver, placing the group in stasis until such a time as visa, financial and emotional problems are resolved...  Good luck Brett!

The orginal bio

Creemer has an angular, literate take on jazzy folk pop that is almost cruel in the accuracy of its observation, combining sophisticated musicality with a raw, emotionally honest delivery. Featuring an all-acoustic line-up featuring Brett Creemer on guitar, Nick Kacal on double bass & and Darren Altman on drums, this highly original Anglo-Canadian band breathes fresh life into the unplugged concept -  providing a true alternative to anodyne, production-line pop.
